Easter Was Egg-celent!

THANKS EASTER BUNNY! BAWK, BAWK!
Easter weekend was both fun, and exhausting. Tay and I were treated to a fun trip to Knott's Berry Farm with Nana, Aunt JJ, Aunt Deb, and my younger 2nd cousins (who were fabulous little babysitters.) Tay loved the trains and carousel, and made us laugh all day. The biggest laugh came at the end of the day, when Taylor decided to "spin",as she so often does. She was spinning and dancing on the dance floor near the carousel, when we noticed it looked as if she was trying to poop. Shortly after, we watched her spin some more, than start limping toward us. She stopped in the center of the dance floor, and started shaking her leg, when a giant poop rolled out. After it sunk in that my sweet little angel just dumped on the dance floor, my mom and I proceeded to slyly dispose of the evidence, all while crossing our legs to keep from peeing our pants in hysterics. Luckily, none of the bystanders eating dinner noticed, or I'm sure they would have lost their appetite.
Easter day was busy, as we traveled to Simi, visiting both sets of in-laws. Taylor was a trooper, and had fun in Grandma and Grandpa's front yard, and swimming naked with Nana, (Just Taylor, not Nana.) Fun was had by all.

Obsessions

We all have things that we fixate on. Here are some of the Pollard's current obsessions.

Nikki's Obsessions:
1. "The Attractor Factor"- I've been pretty good about being a more positive thinker. That said, I'm a little ticked off that some of the things I've told the "Universe" that I want, haven't come to fruition. O well. I guess I'll just continue my blind faith, in hopes that some of the things I want will eventually come to pass in time. It never hurts to be positive.

2. Furniture- I live in a beautiful new house. A beautiful new house with barely any furniture. We're spending every penny on our mortgage, property taxes, etc. So I've been obsessing about finding a piano, book case with glass shelves, and a desk that we can afford. We're hitting up garage sales this weekend. I'm bound and determined to get some deals.
3. Cleaning- It's spring, so I've been dusting, vacuuming, and scrubbing everything. I LOVE A CLEAN HOUSE.

Wes' Current Obsessions:
1.) His English Class- Wes hated academics in high school, and convinced himself that he wasn't a good student. But his mentor at work convinced him to take a class at the local junior college, and WALLAH! Wes is not only an A student, but the teacher's pet, always the first to raise his hand. I've read some of his papers, and I have to say I'm SO impressed.
2.) His Surgery- Wes tore his ACL playing football, and will have surgery on the 26th. He'll be out on disability for 3 months, and he's been worrying about everything that goes along with that.

Tay's Obsessions:
1. ) Barney- Needs no explanation.
2.) Outside- It's been beautiful lately, and Tay doesn't want to spend a minute inside.
3.) Belly Buttons- This is an ongoing obsession. She knows everyone has one, and she wants to see it.

Good Weekend

I've been thinking of something fascinating and controversial to write about in my blog. But as my life isn't fascinating or controversial, I'll just recap my weekend.
All three of us went to breakfast on Saturday morning, followed by a trip to Osh, where we picked out pretty flowers and bushes for our yard. Then I went out to Simi with Taylor, and visited Nana, Grandpa, and JJ. The girls went shopping (for Taylor, of course), and Tay got to ride the train at the mall with Nana. Taylor and I drove home in a freak hail storm, and wrapped up the evening watching "Barney," twice.
I woke up this morning to breakfast in bed, courtesy of Wes, the best husband ever. We headed off to church, where Tay wowed everyone in one of her many Easter dresses and her hat, which she actually KEPT ON!!=) She looked gorgeous as usual, and was so well behaved. Aside from not taking her naps anymore, she's a pretty good kid. Lately, she's been saying "Barney" over and over, as well as "help" anytime she needs it.
It's a mundane life, but it's a good one. I'm a lucky girl.

Taylor's Word List

Taylor's a genius. Ok, maybe not a genius, but we think she's pretty advanced for her age. She's only 16 months, and she has already peed in her potty twice. We think that's pretty cool. I've been trying to write down all of the funny things that she does, and all of the words she says, but it's hard to keep up. If I have an extra minute, I tend to clean the house before I sit down and journal. But I took some time today and made a list of some of what she's said so far. She'll pretty much repeat anything I ask her to, but these words are the ones that we hear the most.
