Deseret News

Here's another review I did for Deseret News. Was just put up on their site today and I geeked out a bit. =) It's online and I was told it will be in Sunday's paper if you're in Utah. Copy and paste the link, since I can't figure out how to post a link to blogger.

Today

Stole this from a friend's blog. I felt the need to blog but I didn't have a specific topic in mind. I normally hate forwards or things where you have to cut and paste then tag a friend, but I like this one. Sometimes the mundane days are nice to eventually look back on and read about, just to remember what a specific and average day in your life was like.

I am going… crazy. Not far from the truth. Long week. But I'm also going grocery shopping because my children are on a steady diet of gold fish crackers and apple juice. I also want to go outside at some point today and enjoy this gorgeous weather.

I am reading… "Water For Elephants"...I'll let you know if it's any good. The last book I read was "The Good Girl's Guide to Getting Lost," which I highly recommend (more for chicks).

I am hoping… I can sleep through the night tonight. I can't think straight when I'm tired.

I am hearing… Counting Crows album "August and Everything After," one of my favorite albums ever on my Pandora, which is possibly my favorite invention ever. I'm also listening to Corinne yell,"I touched Taylor's butt!" which I will ignore.

I am wearing....my mud run shirt and yoga pants. Making me wish I could go back to last Sunday's run. Such a great day.

Around the house… The girls in the play room, actually playing nicely and without me for once. Zero is downstairs barking at a squirrel. Easter decorations are also around the house, though I don't really like holiday decorations and can't wait to take them down.

One of my favorite things… Good friends.

A few plans for the rest of the week...Birthday party tomorrow and Easter madness Sunday.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing… Looking forward to a girl's night out soon with these ladies.

Unrelated to the post, but this is my dvd review from Deseret News, for those of you who don't have a facebook.

Merrell Mud Run 2011

Just wanted to post pictures of the mud run in Castaic that I ran on Sunday. Running alone last year was fun, but running it this year with my mom and friends was so much better. It was a beautiful day and I'm so glad everyone turned out. I woke up the next day sore and sunburned, but I can't wait to do it again next year.

Starting line.

Steph and Jess

My mom and I after the race. She did awesome! So proud of her.

Pre-mud

Muddy girls!

Stephanie, geared up for the race.

Stupid, loobed up wall.

Cannon shots at the starting point.

At the front of the line

My mom didn't get the memo that we were posing like runners. lol

Half way done

Did I mention how awesome my mom is?

Land of misfit shoes

4,000 people went through this part of the course. I guarantee at least half of them peed. The lovely ladies

The Garage

Disclaimer: This blog is me, letting you, read about my life. But just because I put these things out there for the world to read, doesn't mean I want your opinion on anything I post. Sure, comments are always appreciated. But actual opinions and/or advice, especially on the following subject, will simply bug the heck out of me. There. Got that off my chest. And now...my blog post.

The garage is home to many a piece of crap. I have a really, really hard time throwing anything away. Not to the point where I should be on "Hoarders", but it's bad. Aside from the normal stuff you'd throw in a garage, I have two large boxes with high school memorabilia that I weepingly went through yesterday. Pics of old friends, awards, and my crown from the only popularity contest I ever have and ever will win in the 10th grade, which my daughters stole and added to their dress up collection.

The garage also houses baby stuff. Bags and bags of baby clothes align one entire wall of the garage. Our double stroller and bassinet are up in the rafters, along with the exersaucer and walker. Wes and I have talked a lot about adding a third child to the family. I'll never forget leaving the hospital with Corinne, beaming because of how unbelievably cute the little baby in my arms was. A nurse from the maternity ward said, "Come back again!" We replied, "We will!" Confident, after such a great experience, that we'd be back there delivering our third baby at some point. But we've talked, and talked, and talked and feel like we're beating a dead horse. 99% of the conversations end with deciding we're not entirely hip to the idea of having another child. Ouch. Seriously sort of stings when I type that. Especially because we love the two we have so much. But we're really content with the way our little family is right now. And for the past six months, I've been polling everyone I know with kids, asking them, "How did you know when you were done?" Regardless of their answers, we're still on the fence. I went into the garage yesterday with the intent to go through baby clothes, to figure out what to sell and keep, but I couldn't do it. I tried three times. In and out of the stupid garage, totally overwhelmed with the task of figuring out what to do with the things that hold SO much sentimental value to me. I got nowhere. I know there's a really awesome garage sale in our future, but I just can't seem to commit to it just yet.
