March went out like a lion....

Is it the middle of April? Geez, I sort of lost track of time and ignored the blog.
Between Spring Break and worrying about this guy,....

....the time has sort of flown by.
Luckily, my Dad is doing great. He gave us all a scare, more than once, but he's finally home and on the up swing. Hopefully he'll be able to resume his regular habit of visiting the girls every Wednesday fairly soon. Fingers crossed!

Spring break sucked. I'm not sure if 32 year old women should use that word, but that's what it did. Between worrying about my dad and listening to the kids fight whenever they weren't thoroughly entertained, it wasn't much of a "break." But we did have fun when we managed to get out of the house. I felt like I was constantly swiping my debit card. Ugh. Must plan better for the summer or start taking collections now so I can pay for activities.

Here are some pictures of how we entertained ourselves.

We visited daddy at the Gas Co. booth at the safety expo. It sounded like a snooze fest, but the girls had so much fun. Daddy gave away hoola hoops that he welded together, and there were booths everywhere giving away free things. FREE! The inner cheap skate in me was doing cart wheels!

I've decided I really enjoy baking. Corinne is quite the helper. I can't make dinner or anything without her offering to help. We had an FHE lesson one night about putting healthy food into our bodies, so naturally we made cake pops.

Another fantastic free excursion is the park. We have visited every park in Santa Clarita and there is no shame in my game. They have fun, it tires them out, and I don't have to open up my wallet.

We have gotten our money's worth from our Magic Mountain passes, and it's even more fun when you go with your buds! They had so much fun.

Fabulous Fran planned an Easter egg hunt in the park and Taylor had a great time. Corinne was a tired, grumpy bunny, and got her head flicked once or twice during this little activity. But Taylor was stoked to find eggs with her bff's, and her idol, Makenna.

Did I mention I like it when things are free? We went to Dig It at the mall and spent $20 to dig up some rocks. It killed 30 minutes, and then we ran into a store giving away free face paintings. Hooray! I could have kissed this man.

I thought the nerd gene that I carry had skipped Corinne, but she's recently become a book worm like me and Taylor and fell asleep with her Barbie book the other night. I love this squishy little girl.

Easter was great. My dad got home from the hospital 2 days before, and school was starting up the next day. It was a relief to have things go back to normal and resume our routine again.

We spent Easter morning at Grandma's house and the afternoon at Nana's. We ate, played, and ate some more.

Taylor has been telling me she wants to be on TV and wants to go to "acting school." I'm ignoring her request because with acting, emotions reign supreme and encouraging that could be bad! I may give in and look for a community play for her to join or something, but I'm doing it begrudgingly despite her obvious God given gift for versatility. See below. (kidding)

I finally bit the bullet and put the girls in swimming. It helps to have their friends in the same class, and Taylor is doing great. Corinne is getting over her fear slowly with some bribery from mom. Don't judge me. I do what I gotta do.

Taylor got an award at school before the break for being a Radical Reader and Awesome Author, two things she really is excellent at. She's always writing stories and little books and it was fun to see how proud she was to be rewarded for it.

A day in the life of the princesses. Andi and Corinne are fun to watch. They've been playing "house" lately, and it cracks me up to spy on them. Andi is the highlight of Corinne's week, right up there with Nana and Grandma's visits.

Last but not least, there's something funny in the water. Three women in my life are preggers. Laurel's shower was a blast and I can't even put to words how much I love the ladies below. To have such a solid group of true friends is a blessing that I am incredibly grateful for.
