Sum, sum, summertime!

It's officially summer! I've been trying desperately to fill up our days with fun activities so I never have to hear, "I'm bored!" We're keeping busy and here's a little update on the familia.

Taylor went on a date. This is her second date at the movies with a boy and so far she has great taste in men. Her date this time was a fine young man, with only the best of intentions. She looks less than thrilled in this picture, but she adores this little boy.....and a few other boys in our ward. I'll have to keep an eye on this girl.

We love Ventura Harbor and the kids have already been there three times in the last month. They love digging for sand crabs and getting ice cream across the street.

Mommy had a girl's night out to the Britney Spears concert courtesy of my lovely friend, Rachel. It was a blast!!! We puffy painted shirts and had some girl time. I'm such a nut for live music (I know, I know. She lip sings.) The energy in the stadium was exciting and I had a great time.

This is Wes at our friends, Becky and Ben's, birthday party for their little girl. No idea why he's giving the thumbs up sign. lol. Love that dork.

Father's Day was low key. We went to church and hung around the house, just like Mother's Day. But Daddy knows he's loved.

I'm SO proud of Taylor. She's going to summer camp at her preschool, and they did a little performance for the parents. She sang "The Moose Song" with a big ol' smile on her face, with dance moves and all. This is a total 180 from her normal performances, where she has a ticked off look on her face and refuses to sing. We're making progress.

Wes and I went to a wedding in San Clemente. It was much-needed alone time. We got dressed up, enjoyed the town, ate out, danced....a fabulous time! Sometimes we need to get away and say, "Hey! We actually enjoy each other's company!" And it's so much easier to do when we can be alone for a bit without the stresses of home. Mission accomplished.

Corinne is potty trained! Can I get an amen??!!! I'm elated I won't have to spend a small fortune on diapers anymore. She's out of a crib and out of diapers. Looks like I no longer have a baby to take care of . It's so weird, but I'm not too sad about it. There's so much to look forward to. She's getting so big and is a lot of fun. Her new thing is to refer to Taylor as "My Taylor," and she's recently learned to ride her scooter. Nana took the girls to Dig It after they both had their shots. Corinne did alright, but Tay was a wreck. Three shots, a finger prick...and THEN they did a hearing and eye test while she was hysterically crying and upset. Followed by having to pee in a cup, which FREAKED her out. Sadly, she has two more in July. But she's ready for kindergarten and already reading!! It's so exciting! As for me, I recently had another article published online and in print for Deseret News. Here's the link. It's another book review. It's also pasted at the top of the right side bar with the rest of them. Hope you like it. (Copy and paste it in your browser.)http://desne.ws/lqNxUm
