Jumping in muddy puddles

Taylor and Corinne love the show "Peppa Pig." They get a kick out of her jumping in muddy puddles with her cute English accent, so they think it's pretty cool that I do the same thing once a year.

I'm glad to report that I've ran in the Los Angeles Merrell Down and Dirty Mud Run for the last three years since it began, and I haven't died once. I'm always a little smug after the race because the whole thing is completely out of my comfort zone. I hate running and I'm horrible at it. I can't quite get the whole breathing thing down and I'm just weak sauce. So every year, when I cross that finish line, my inner bad ass yells, "Hoorah! See, Pollard! You're not a total wuss! You can do hard things!" She's normally dressed in camouflage, running around in my head doing modified push ups on her knees to prove her point.

I finished just under an hour, and was thankful for Jess (knuckle bump, girl) for taking pity on her old friend when I ran out of steam.

After the run I had to book it home to interpret for a deaf family at church. I was so tired. I slept like a baby last night and am walking funny today. But it was totally worth it like it always is. I can't wait until next year.

Maybe I better start training now... :/

I am totally cheating in this picture. Should be on my tummy. Whoops.
