Last day of kindergarten vs. Last day of first grade. Pretty sure she grew a few inches.
We survived the first week of summer. I was nervous. I'm not ganna lie. But I tried not to let the kids smell my fear, and some how the week just flew by. It feels like we've squeezed an entire summer's worth of activity into the last two weeks. I've managed to wear the kids out with the following:
End of the year performance
Swim lessons
play dates with new friends, Maddy and Zoe
Visit with Grandpa the Great
Taylor became a Brownie
My dad got out of the hospital (again)
Two birthday parties
Father's Day
Ear piercing
hair cuts
And a whole lot of swimming
All a part of my plan to wear them out so much that they are begging me to go to bed at 7:30 pm. I'd call that a success. Taylor and I've coined this summer "The Summer To Conquer Fears!" In one week my brave girl finally decided to get her ears pierced, jumped off a high point at a swimming point she was previously afraid of, and sat through three fillings at the dentist (after 40 miutes of hysterics before the novacane shot). I'm so proud of her and I hope she keeps it up.
Corinne is just happy to have Taylor home. Sure, there's been a little bit of bickering at the end of the day, but they've been waking up in the morning and immediately setting off to play. I've been sleeping in past 7 for the first time in who knows when, and it's heavenly.
Here's hoping the rest of the summer is just as fun as the first week!

| Seriously? |
| Love this kid |
| My nephew, Robby. Oober mobile at 8 months. |
| The three great-grandkids at my Grammy's piano. |
| Taylor decided to be nice to Robby for a change. Not sure what her deal is, but she is SO jealous of him. But she read him Brown Bear Brown Bear, and he was intrigued. Book lovers run in the family. |
| She just looks too old. Thanks for the dress, Nana! |
| My Daisy is now a Brownie. Sniffle. Her leaders did such a great job putting together a ceremony complete with bridging and a rainbow balloon arch. She was so excited and all the girls had such a great time. I'm so thankful we found this group of girls. They all get along so well, and we have enjoyed making new friends. |
| One of our friends from Girl Scouts, Lily, had a birthday party. The ice cream man came and each girl got to get a popsicle. They were beyond excited, since I always say NO to the ice cream man. |
| Corinne painted a mug for her dad for Father's Day. She also bought him a bell for his scooter. She had been planning to give it to him for months. She's so funny. And yes, Wes is an awesome dad and will be sure to use the mug and put the bell on his razor scooter just to make her happy. |
| Our fearless leader, Lisa. |
| Corinne adores her cousin. |
She's obviously matured so much this year.
| Fear of piercing, CONQUERED! And she looks so grown up! |
We sure do love our Grandpa the Great. It is thee only thing we enjoy about Grandpa being in the hospital, since he always comes down when my dad is getting stitched up for something or other. The girls talk about GTG all the time, and we are hoping to take a trip to his house this summer. They have been begging!
| New hair cut with layers. When did she get so old? |
| A giant floor puzzle. |
| Drool worthy camera. Mama likey. I want it. |
| We had to go to Pet Smart to get Zero a new leash and collar, and there was a pet fair with cats. This is Taylor and Corinne holding their breath for a cat. Nevermind that Taylor is extremely allergic to some cats. We found one that was about as cute as cats get, but Dad said no. |
| Taylor's report card was as good as it gets. All E's and 3s this year, and one 4. I will try not to let that bother me. =) She is so smart and it's pretty easy being this "amazing young lady's" mom. We are lucky! |
| More begging for a cat. Ugh. |
| Corinne, in all her glory. She laid back at my nephew's birthday party to dry off and asked for her glasses. Ridiculous cuteness! |
| Swimming with Grandma and Cael. |
| Happy 3rd birthday, Cael! |
| The beginning of a water fight. |
| She shoots, she scores! |
