The "F" Word

Get your mind out of the gutter! I'm talking about the flu.

On Monday, Wes was feverish and barfing until all hours of the night. I wasn't too concerned, because we both thought it was just food poisoning. After all, he bought food from the $1 store the previous day. I mean, really. That's just nasty. And it wasn't like he bought something generic and safe; he bought something called "Mexican Mango Juice." I told him he was just asking for food poisoning, or some crazy Mexican plague. So of course on Tuesday I repeatedly said, "I told you so," and forgot about it.

Fast forward to Thursday. Taylor and I went to the zoo with our friend Ashley and her cute little girl, (This little girl has the best eyelashes. I think Ashley puts falsies on her.) After Taylor ate lunch, she projectile vomits all over the place infront of everyone in the eating area. Lovely.

So I clean her up, and assume she barfed because she had been spinning around. Only to realize when we get home, she has a 103.5 fever. My poor baby has been miserable ever since. She woke up this morning saying, "Hot. Hot. Juice. Juice." She's never had more than a cold, so this has been awful for me. It's the pits seeing your child sick. Her doctor said this year's been the absolute worst flu season she's ever seen, and the flu shot is useless. We've been lounging around the house, watching every Baby Einstein we own. If she's sick, she gets whatever she wants. That's kind of my rule for survival at this point.

Hopefully she'll feel better tomorrow. Just as a side note, stay away from the Elephant exhibit at the LA Zoo. I don't want to go into details, so I'll just say this. It's spring, and I'll never look at elephants in the same way.

I still wouldn't drink or eat anything from the $1 store.

Poor baby. It's so sad when our kids get sick. I always feel so bad from them. It's also exhausting trying to take care of all their "extra" needs.

Chloe threw up early that night. I know Taylor couldn't have gotten her sick that fast but 3 kids vomiting in one day. What a coincidence? I think Chloe is over it now but we watched Barney, Elmo, and Ice Age. Ice age was a nice break since I now have all the annoying Barney and Elmo songs in my head. Hope everyone gets better soon.

Sucks to have sick kids but even worse is being sick at the same time... Hope you all start feeling better soon! You totally made me laugh with the $1 store diatribe.
