Stage Fright

I was asked to sing in our church sacrament meeting this coming Sunday. Writing that sentence just made my stomach do a belly flop. Here's the deal. I love to sing. I grew up doing musical theater, and almost always had lead roles. I never felt nervous or jittery. But there's just something about singing in sacrament that makes me want to puke. I've done it once before, and I think it scarred me for life. I barely had time to practice, threw something together, and was absolutely horrible. I had an excess of saliva while I was singing, and my knees were literally shaking. I ran to the bathroom and threw up when it was over. For some reason, singing alone, in plain view, infront of a church audience, is SO intimidating. Yet, I'm doing it again. Maybe Heavenly Father is trying to give me a second chance, so I can erase the old memory and replace it with a new one. Like my last entry stated, I'm taking on a new POSITIVE attitude. This will be the most amazing sacrament performance ever! ......Or, maybe I just won't barf this time.

It looks as if I won't need to worry about Taylor ever having stage fright.

Excess of saliva...I know that would happen to me or I would trip walking on stage. Most Likely my skirt would be tucked into my underwear and I would be standing in front of the Bishop and I can't sing anyways so I know it wouldn't be good.

I played it for Chloe and she keeps laughing after it each time.

I think I remember you singing in Sacrament meeting and you did great!

I know what you mean though about getting all nervous and jittery in front of people. I used to be heavily involved in music and theater in high school yet there is no way I'd ever sing in sacrament now. You know that saying about the Lord taking away your talents if you don't use them (or something like that)... well, I think he took my signing ability away years ago :).
